REVITALIZATION PROGRAMS AVAILABLE TO BUSINESSES

Economic Revitalization Zone (ERZ) Tax Credit Program

In an effort to encourage revitalization and create jobs, Communities and employers may take advantage of New Hampshire's Economic Revitalization Zone Tax Credits (ERZ Tax Credit) Program (Formerly CROP Zone).

The Economic Revitalization Zone Tax Credits (ERZ Tax Credit) Program is an incentive for businesses to create new jobs.  With the Economic Revitalization Zone Tax Credits (ERZ Tax Credit) Program you may be eligible for tax credits to be used against your Business Profit Tax and Business Enterprise Tax in a qualifying Economic Revitalization Zone Tax Credits (ERZ Tax Credit) Program project.   Hudson has two appproved economic revitalization zones (1) Clement Road Industrial Park; and (2) Sagamore Industrial Park.  For confirmation to see if your location may qualify for either zone contact the Town of Hudson at (603) 886-6005.  For the Town of Hudson website, click here.

It is a two step process, whereby the municipality first applies for the designation based upon specific criteria (Hudson has 2 approved zones), and secondly, a business applies for the actual tax credit, click here for the application. The application deadline is January 29, 2010, so act quickly.

Silent Auction & Dinner for Charity Exceeds Expectations!

Raises $6,387!!

The Greater Hudson Chamber of Commerce held its Annual Holiday Auction for Charity on December 8th at King's Court & Banquet Hall, 222 Central Street in Hudson, raising $6,387.00 for the St. Vincent de Paul Society.  Special thanks to all those that donated and participated in the auction as a result the auction raised $5,387 - the additional $1,000 was a monetary donation generously gifted by PSNH!!  During the last eleven years of holding the Annual Auction the GHCC members and local businesses have been able to raise an outstanding $33,400 for charity.

The St. Vincent de Paul Society, which is operated through the Blessed John XXIII Parish at the St. John the Evangelist Church in Hudson, assists many local families by maintaining a food panty, assisting with rent and utility bills, and especially helping during the holidays by distributing food baskets and gifts to families in need.  This year Leona Shanholtz, volunteer of the St. Vincent de Paul stated, "The need is overwhelming this year with many families seeking assistance in the Hudson and Litchfield communities.  This is the highest it's ever been in many years.  The assistance this auction has brought is definitely greatly appreciated and necessary to help aid these families, it's been a very tough year for many."

More than 70 business members of the Greater Hudson Chamber of Commerce along with other local businesses donated wonderful items for the silent auction.  Jim Goss of NH ESGR won the evening's 50/50 raffle and the Jar of Money was won by Kelly Cote of Caribe Tan. The auction held many chances to win for all those in attendance but most important offered local business members an opportunity to generously support the community.  The live auctions added to the festivities as Bob Clegg won the boat trip donated by Financial Insurance Services; Fred Ramos (Showtime Computers) winning the Day at the Lake donated by Red Brick Clothing; and Paul Weeks (Tsubaki Flowers) winning the Weekend at Cape Cod donated by Matibo's Salon!

The evening was a success with the hard work on the many volunteers from the Chamber and approximately 110 guests that attended showing their holiday spirit and generosity by participating in the auction along with the overwhelming support of the event sponsors were The Nashua Bank, Service Lighting Express, Specialty Kitchens, Finanical Insurance Services, Area News Group, Barlo Signs International, Granite State Credit Union, Representatives John & Mary Ann Knowles, Web Action Group and Tsubaki Flowers & Gifts as the floral sponsor.

The Greater Hudson Chamber of Commerce thanks all those who attended, donated, sponsored and participated in this worthwhile event, and would like to wish everyone a Happy Holiday Season.  Anyone interested in further assisting the community through the St. Vincent de Paul Society can make a contribution by contacting the Society at 882-2462 x6.
