Purpose of a Business After Hours:
- To provide an opportunity for Chamber members
to network.
- To provide an opportunity for the Host to increase
awareness about your business or company to Chamber members
and guests. This is also an opportunity to encourage future
sales and business by our members and guests.
Requirements of Host:
- One month before the event:
- Provide the Chamber a paragraph about
your business at least one month in advance of the date
you are hosting. The Chamber will announce the Business
After Hours in the GHCC newsletter, circulate it to local media contacts, and promote the event in email and fax blasts, as well as have flyers available
at the previous Business After Hours. The GHCC will include your logo in information distributed giving you optimal advertising and awareness of your business.
- If you would like
your event to stand out, consider a Theme to create a festive and appealing event.
The evening of the event
:
- A table or desk, preferably near the entrance,
for registration of our members and guests. We will also use
this surface to set up any raffles and to display member literature
and upcoming events.
- Refreshments. Since Business After Hours are
held at the end of a workday, often people who attend enjoy
soft drinks, or a glass of wine or beer, and something light
to eat. Seating is not required.
- A presentation. This can be as simple as introducing
your staff or management and a brief explanation of the business
or company. A tour of the location would be appropriate if
the size of your business warrants it. A brief (3 - 5 minute)
video or there type of presentation may also interest our
membership.
- Door prize(s). Each guest will be entered into
a drawing. The number of giveaways is up to you. This does
help to heighten the awareness of your product or services
if you can provide a prize. The Chamber will hold a 50/50
raffle as well, with proceeds being divided by the winner
and the Chamber's general fund.

Chamber of Commerce at 889-4731 if you would like to be a host. There is a $75 fee for hosting.
