DESCRIPTION:Stop by Fire Hose Fun during the Hudson Fire Open House! Kids can try on firefighter gear\, take a turn with the hose\, and knock down the "flames." It's a fun\, hands-on chance to experience a little of what firefighters do!\n\n\n\n Saturday\, September 26th\n\n 10 AM 2 PM\n\n Central Fire Station\, 15 Library Street\n\nJoin us for a variety of exciting activities and demonstrations designed for all ages!\n\nLive Demonstrations and Interactive Booths: Learn essential fire safety tips and watch as our skilled firefighters showcase their expertise.   Demonstrations will include the following:\n\n	Vehicle Extrication: An interactive experience where you can touch the tools we use during vehicle extrication.  A live demonstration of how we use these tools on a car will also take place.\n	Side-by-Side Burn Trailer:  Learn about the important difference sprinklers can make in your home.\n	Fire Extinguisher Training: Learn how to safely and properly use a fire extinguisher.\n	Thermal Imaging Experience: An interactive experience where you search for animals to determine heat and cold.\n	Close Before You Doze: Live event where you will learn about the importance of shutting your bedroom door before you go to sleep.\n	Knock down the Fire: An interactive experience where you use the hose to knock down flames.\n	Great Hudson Duck Dash: One lucky duck wins dinner at the fire station!\n	Hands only CPR and Stop the Bleed: Get hands on and learn about these two very important things that can help save lives!\n\n  Station Tours: Explore the fire station and see where our firefighters live\, train and respond from while on duty.\n\n  Meet the Firefighters: Our team will be available to answer your questions and share their experiences.\n\n  Touch a truck: Check out our fire trucks and equipment up close!\n\nAlso joining the fun:\n\n	St. Joseph Mobile Clinic will available to provide flu vaccinations for those interested adults.  Flu shots are no cost with insurance\, after satisfaction of any applicable deductible.  Don't forget to bring your insurance card!\n	NH State Fire Marshal's office will be hosting their "Plan Your Escape" obstacle course and will also be on hand with important information regarding charging safety.\n	NH Department of Safety will be here sharing important information on contacting 911 in the event of an emergency.\n	Boston Med Flight will be here with their critical care ambulance to tour and learn more about.\n	Southeastern New Hampshire Hazmat will be on site with some of their response vehicles.  Take a tour and learn about the support they provide to our community.\n	Smokey Bear & Sparky the Fire Dog will be here during select hours for meet and greet/photo opportunities.\n	Freddie the Fire Truck will be out and about throughout the open house\, so be sure to say hello!\n\n Location and Accessibility: The open house will be held at the Leonard A. Smith Central Fire Station located at 15 Library Street. The venue is wheelchair accessible\, and we encourage everyone in the community to attend.\n\n  Parking: Parking will be available in the Hills Memorial Library/SAU building parking lot located at 18 Library Street\, along with the parking lot at the Early Learning Center located at 33 School Street.\n\n HPD will be on hand to guide pedestrians back and forth at the intersection of Library and School Street.\n\n School Street will be closed from Chase Street to Library Street for this event.\n\n Refreshments and Giveaways:\n\n  Enjoy complimentary refreshments and pick up some fantastic giveaways as a token of our appreciation for your support. The Professional Firefighters of Hudson Local 3154 will be providing hot dogs and popcorn.  Water and juice boxes will be provided by the Hudson Firefighters Relief Association.  While supplies last!\n\n Ms. Caylyn's ice cream truck will also be on site with the selection of frozen treats available for purchase.\n\n\n\nWhether you're a longtime resident or new to the area\, this is a wonderful opportunity to connect with your local fire department and learn more about the vital role we play in keeping Hudson safe.
