The United States Mint invites you to attend the ceremonial launch of the Lowell National Historical Park quarter on February 6, 2018. The 46th coin in our America the Beautiful Quarters® Program is the first quarter to be released this year. For more information about this popular program, click here. The reverse (tails side) design depicts a mill girl working at a power loom with its prominent circular bobbin battery. A view of Lowell, including the Boott Mill clock tower, is seen through the window. Inscriptions are ?LOWELL,? ?MASSACHUSETTS,? ?2019,? and ?E PLURIBUS UNUM.?
The launch ceremony will take place at 10 a.m. (ET) on Wednesday, February 6, at the Lowell Memorial Auditorium (Lowell, MA). This event is free and open to the public. All children who attend the event will receive a brand new Lowell National Historical Park quarter from the United States Mint. There will be a coin exchange immediately following the ceremony where coins can be obtained for face value (1-roll minimum / 10-roll maximum, cash only). *Note ? in the event of a statewide snow emergency, the event will be held on Thursday, February 7 at 10 a.m. (same location).
The United States Mint will also host a coin forum the evening before the event at the Lowell National Historical Park Visitor Center Theater (Lowell, MA) on Tuesday, February 5, from 6:30-7:30 p.m. (ET). This is a unique opportunity to have access to a U.S. Mint representative who will give you an inside look at the Mint and answer any questions you may have about our programs or products.
