  • What Is Your Chamber?

    The Gr. Hudson Chamber of Commerce, a 501(c)(6) association founded July 14, 1952 as voluntary partnership of business and professional people working together to build business for a healthy economy and to improve the quality of life in your community. The Chamber is NOT a government agency, nor is it affiliated with the US Chamber of Commerce. The organization does not receive any federal, state or town funding.

    The Gr. Hudson Chamber of Commerce supports civic, community and culture by fostering an environment that promotes and supports business relationships and community involvement for a prosperous place to live, work and do business while serving as the front door to our community, welcoming visitors from around the world.

    Simply stated, your Chamber is business and professional people working together to make your community a better place for everyone.

    Who are the chamber members?

    Gr. Hudson Chamber of Commerce members are businesses, organizations and individuals concerned with the socio-economic climate of your community. They have joined together because they know they stand a better chance of getting things done when they speak as one voice.

    Who leads the chamber?

    Its members run your Chamber of Commerce. They elect a Board of Directors that determines policies and set goals. The President presides over all Board meetings. The office staff made up of an Executive Director, handles your chamber's day-to-day operations. Members become involved in leadership roles and chamber activities.

    What are the objectives of the chamber?

    As it works to improve your community's economy and quality of life, the Gr. Hudson Chamber of Commerce keeps these broad objectives in mind:

    • To help businesses prosper and grow;
    • To increase job opportunities;
    • To encourage an orderly expansion and development of all segments of the community, and;
    • To contribute to the overall economic stability and quality of life of the community.


    How does the Chamber work?

    The Gr. Hudson Chamber of Commerce is funded through the investment of the members through dues and sponsorship, which in turn supports the development of programs and initiatives that result in positive growth of business and industry.  In exchange for the member investment, the Chamber provides visibility, resources, and advocacy. 

    What are the activities of the Chamber?

    The Chamber supports and enhances our members in a variety of ways.  The following are some of the activities undertaken by the chamber to aid the business community and its members:

    • Meetings with speakers on important relevant subjects and resources;
    • Hosting monthly morning, afternoon and evening networking events offering members an opportunity to meet fellow members and make business contacts;
    • Referrals matching your facilities with customer requests;
    • Free exposure to potential customers in the Membership Directory on the Chamber's website;
    • Partnering with local non-profit organizations dedicated to improving our community;
    • Advertising and Sponsorship offerings to garner more visibility;
    • Ribbon Cutting Ceremonies to celebrate the success of our members;
    • And much more!
