Free tax preparation services will be available beginning in early February 2026 for qualified Greater Nashua residents through a partnership led by United Way of Greater Nashua, the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), and trained community volunteers.
Tax preparation will be provided by IRS-certified volunteers at four sites in Nashua and Hudson as part of the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) and Tax Counseling for the Elderly (TCE) programs.
The tax preparation sites are:
- United Way of Greater Nashua, 20 Broad Street, Nashua
- Nashua Senior Activity Center, 70 Temple Street, Nashua
- Rodgers Memorial Library, 194 Derry Road, Hudson
- Hudson Senior Center, 19 Kimball Hill Road, Hudson
The two Nashua sites and
Rodgers Memorial Library will offer
in-person tax preparation by appointment. The
Hudson Senior Center will offer a
drop-off service, allowing taxpayers to leave their tax documents with trained volunteers and return later to pick up their completed return. No walk-in clients will be accepted at any site.

Eligibility and Required Documents
Volunteers are trained to assist taxpayers through both the
VITA and
TCE programs and can help identify credits taxpayers may be eligible for, including the
Earned Income Tax Credit,
Child Tax Credit, and others.
The
VITA Program offers free tax help to individuals who generally earn
$67,000 or less, people with disabilities, and limited English-speaking taxpayers. The
TCE Program focuses on tax issues unique to individuals
age 60 and older. While there is no income limit for TCE-prepared returns, priority is given to low-to-moderate income households. All sites can prepare returns for both programs.
Taxpayers should bring all required documents to their appointment. A list of required documents and information on the types of tax returns volunteers can and cannot prepare can be found on
IRS Form 3676-B, available at:
https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/p3676bsp.pdf
